A 51-year-old man died after the tricycle he was riding collided with a motorcycle driven by a policeman in Barangay Looc, Cardona, Rizal, Wednesday night, December 24, 2025.
According to Police Captain Richard Dela Cruz, the tricycle was coming from a convenience store, while the policeman was on duty. The tricycle allegedly avoided a traffic sign, resulting in a head-on collision and both vehicles were totally wrecked.
The tricycle driver and the policeman were rushed to the hospital. The tricycle driver was dead on arrival, while the 27-year-old policeman required surgery due to a head injury. The 17-year-old tricycle rider suffered scratches and wounds.
The story of the son of the deceased tricycle driver, his father just borrowed the tricycle to buy food on Noche Buena. “This is really the most painful Christmas,” said Alex Gresola.
The PNP investigation is ongoing, and double-checking CCTV to determine who was at fault in the accident.
