The viral selfie that went viral online of Cathy Cabral, former DPWH Undersecretary, was confirmed by DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla to have come from her driver's cellphone. According to him, the photo has been proven to be authentic.
Remulla said the photo was taken around 8 a.m., before Cabral and his driver traveled to Baguio City and before they checked in at the hotel.
Cabral died on Thursday night after allegedly falling into a deep ravine along Kennon Road, Benguet. According to an autopsy, he died of severe head and body injuries. The driver is now considered a person of interest, especially after he was left in a remote area without a cellphone and bag, according to the PNP.
