The three people were caught at the Caticlan airport after using fake credit cards to book Cebu Pacific flights.
According to Cebu Pacific, the suspects used stolen or unauthorized credit cards to convert travel funds, which they sold on Facebook groups such as Cebu Pacific Refund, Cebu Pacific Travel Fund (For Sale), and Cebu Pacific Piso Fare.
The suspects flew from Davao to Boracay and were on their way back to Davao when they were caught.
Cebu Pacific has canceled all bookings purchased using fake credit cards. The airline also advised passengers to only book on the official website, mobile app, or with accredited travel partners to ensure their tickets are legitimate.
Passengers who purchase through unauthorized channels may experience booking problems, be unable to check-in online, or lose the right to rebooking and refunds in the event of an emergency.
