The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has confiscated the license of a pick-up driver involved in a brawl in Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City. LTO Chief Markus Lacanilao announced this in a press conference.
According to the report, the driver injured the man carrying the cart and a child. The driver and the owner of the cart appeared before the LTO in a hearing in Quezon City. The driver admitted his mistake and promised not to repeat it.
Lacanilao advised the driver to accept the punishment. He also said that the driver was possibly drunk at the time of the incident, and that his actions were hurtful.
The owner of the cart shared that he was able to save his son before he was hit. Meanwhile, a video of the incident went viral showing the driver beating him before someone stopped him.
Comedian Pokwang, the driver's sister, apologized to the public for her brother's actions. The LTO's formal resolution is expected on December 18.
