Porac, Pampanga Mayor Jaime Capil has surrendered to the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 265 and on bail for his graft charges related to the controversial POGO hub in Porac town. He submitted a ₱630,000 cash bond, so the court revoked the warrant of arrest against him. His arraignment and pre-trial is set for December 11, 1:30 PM.
Capil said that he did not hide and that he was only following the proper legal process. He thanked his family, friends, and the people of Porac for their support. He added that he is ready to serve the Poraqueños again.
Capil is facing seven counts of graft after allegedly allowing the illegal operation of Lucky South 99 POGO in 2024. In April, the Ombudsman found him guilty of gross neglect of duty and ordered his dismissal, forfeiture of retirement benefits, and lifetime ban in any government position. Despite this, he was re-elected as mayor in May.
According to the court, the recommended bail is ₱90,000 for the seven cases and can be paid through corporate surety, property bond, cash deposit, or recognizance based on Rule 114 of the Rules of Court.
