The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has raised alert at airports and seaports to keep an eye on Zaldy Co and his 15 associates who have warrants of arrest. Their names are now in the derogatory database so they can be easily flagged if they attempt to leave or enter the country.
According to BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado, frontline officers have been instructed to immediately contact the PNP if any of them are intercepted. He assured that the BI is working with law enforcement agencies to ensure that legal process is followed.
The BI said that Zaldy Co, Montrexis Tamayo, Aderma Angelie Alcazar, and Cesar Buenaventura are already abroad. Co left for Singapore on August 6, while Tamayo went to Qatar on November 15. Alcazar left for Australia, and Buenaventura traveled to UAE on October 2.
The BI also added that Co was included in the Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) in September, while the other three were recently placed on the list.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte said that “to see is to believe” when it comes to the administration's action to go after Co. According to her, the government's sincerity will only be seen if clear evidence can be shown and if someone can be held accountable for the alleged corruption related to the flood control scandal.
