
Typhoon Tino's damage in Negros Occidental has risen to P1.98 billion. This includes P1.39 billion to roads and bridges, P172.84 million to schools, P294.91 million to crops and livestock, P125.67 million to fisheries, and P449,000 to agricultural equipment.
The death toll in Negros Occidental has reached 67, while 48 are missing. Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has asked Malacañang to allocate funds to repair damaged bridges and roads to restore access to remote areas.
According to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, the President has ordered that all areas affected by the calamity be given attention. The DSWD has already distributed 1.2 million food boxes to victims, including 50,000 in Negros Island.
In Pampanga, agricultural damage due to Super Typhoon Uwan was reported to have reached P222 million. The biggest damage was to rice, which amounted to P48.63 million and affected 956 farmers.
In Nueva Vizcaya, Gov. Jose Gambito has formed the “Task Force Uwan” to quickly restore infrastructure, services, and livelihoods of families. There will be smaller groups for specific tasks such as road repair and providing medical assistance.
