Los Angeles was bathed in blue Monday as hundreds of thousands of Dodgers fans celebrated their back-to-back World Series wins. The city was a sea of blue as confetti rained down on open-top buses carrying players, two days after the Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4.
Thousands of fans lined up before dawn to catch a glimpse of the parade. According to city officials, the turnout this year was higher than last year, which reached more than ₱12 million people (equivalent to 200,000 fans).
The Dodgers are the first team in 25 years to win back-to-back Major League Baseball championships. This is also their ninth World Series title and third win since 2020, proving that they are a formidable team.
Shohei Ohtani, the Japanese superstar who joined in 2024, happily thanked the fans and said he hopes to win a third consecutive title next year. “It's so fun to win with these kind of fans,” Ohtani said.
Meanwhile, Clayton Kershaw, the veteran pitcher who retired after 18 years with the Dodgers, called the parade a “perfect ending.” Fans also praised Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who was named Most Valuable Player after his impressive pitching in Game 7.
