Famous director Takashi Yamazaki, who brought the huge success of Godzilla Minus One, will return to produce a new Kaiju movie titled Godzilla Minus Zero. This was announced at the Godzilla Fest 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, in conjunction with the celebration of Godzilla Day.
In the new project, Yamazaki will still write, direct, and handle the film's visual effects. As of now, no details have been given about the story or release date, leaving fans wondering what the title “Minus Zero” means.
Yamazaki is known as one of the best VFX artists in Japan. He drew inspiration from classic films such as Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. As usual, he also created the film's logo design—a bold design done in a brush stroke style.
After the success of Godzilla Minus One, which won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects, Godzilla Minus Zero is expected to be another big hit. The previous film is estimated to have grossed ₱2.8 billion, so expectations are high for Yamazaki's new project.
Stay tuned for the official trailer and release date in the coming months as fans continue to get excited about the new chapter of the Godzilla saga.
