The Gaza civil defense said at least 50 people were killed after an Israeli airstrike last night. According to spokesman Mahmud Bassal, the attack was a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.
The dead included 22 children, as well as women and the elderly, while nearly 200 were injured. The bombs reportedly targeted evacuees' tents, houses, and the area around the hospital.
Israel carried out airstrikes after accusing Hamas of attacking its soldiers in Gaza. A soldier identified as Yona Efraim Feldbaum, 37, was killed after being hit by a bullet in Rafah.
According to Hamas, they had nothing to do with the attack and are still adhering to the ceasefire agreement. However, US President Donald Trump defended Israel's retaliation and said the truce would not be affected.
Gaza residents expressed fear and fatigue as the bombing resumed. According to Khadija al-Husni, an evacuee, “We thought the war was over, but the fear has returned.”
