Yuga Labs is set to launch Otherside on November 12, which can be accessed directly from a web browser. No NFT or crypto wallet required—just an email sign-up is all that's required to get in.
The launch center is the Koda Nexus, a large social hub connected to places like The Swamp and Meetropolis. This will be the main area where players will start before exploring other zones of the world.
Yuga Labs has partnered with Amazon for Boximus avatars and has also released a limited 300-piece avatar collection with artist Daniel Arsham. Initial features also include shooter and survival modes, voice and text chat, and creator tools to create your own worlds or games.
Otherside aims to make Web3 gaming accessible. Players can play using just their email, while avatars and items are blockchain-based and can be sold or transferred outside the platform.
This project is Yuga Labs' step into mainstream gaming. From alpha tests and events like ApeFest, it will now become a continuous world with regular updates and brand collaborations—a combination of gaming, social interaction, and digital ownership that can potentially compete
