The NBI-CAVIDO North arrested seven people — four foreigners and three Filipinos — in an operation against an online scam hub in Bacoor City, Cavite. The raid was conducted on October 15, 2025, at a two-story house in Barangay Panapaan.
According to Atty. Cesar Eric Nuqui, chief of NBI-CAVIDO North, they were joined in the operation by computer experts who obtained important evidence of computer-related fraud. Those arrested were allegedly involved in online romance scams and cryptocurrency investment fraud.
The alleged mastermind was identified as a Chinese national named “Daye.” He was accompanied by two Malaysians, one Indonesian, and three Filipino accomplices. Some would search for victims online while others would pretend to be women to gain the trust of the target. Once they received the money, they would immediately block the victim.
Authorities seized five computers, nearly 100 cellphones, and several storage devices containing transaction data. The suspects are facing charges for violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (R.A. 10175) and Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (R.A. 12010).
Currently, those arrested are detained at the NBI Detention Facility in Muntinlupa City while the investigation continues.
