President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has expressed his willingness to release his Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) to the public.
Marcos also said he will encourage members of his Cabinet to also show their SALNs as part of demonstrating transparency and fighting corruption.
The Office of the Ombudsman has reopened public access to SALN to curb corruption and abuse of power.
Previously, in 2020, a written and notarized authorization from an official was required before obtaining their SALN. With the new decision, it is now easier for the public to access it.
