
A woman safely gave birth during the 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Davao Oriental on October 10, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
According to Dr. Bryan Dalid of the DOH-Davao Regional Medical Center, a mobile curtain was used for the mother's privacy. The delivery was performed by a resident OB doctor and a midwife.
She is among the 662 patients who were evacuated from the hospital as a precaution. After the delivery, the mother and baby are safe and in good condition. They will return for a follow-up checkup.
The DOH also said that the cost of childbirth will be covered by the Zero Balance Billing program so the patient will not have to pay anything.
