The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has seized approximately ₱2 million worth of fake insecticide in Valenzuela City and Tondo, Manila.
Up to 13,412 canisters of fake Bao Li Lai aerosol insecticide and 3,042 canisters of fake Big Bie Lai insecticide were seized from a store and its warehouses.
The operation began after a complaint was filed by the owner of the registered trademark, who reported widespread sales of counterfeit products.
After conducting surveillance and test-buy, the NBI confirmed the illegal activity and immediately obtained a search warrant from the court.
The store owner will be charged for trademark infringement pursuant to Republic Act 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
