President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has maintained that loyal and dedicated public servants are the true face of the government, and not the corrupt officials involved in the issues of the P100 billion flood control projects.
Marcos said that all government employees should not be judged just because a few officials are implicated in anomalies. “They are not the face of the government, they are the face of corruption,” the President said in his podcast.
He also shared that during his inspection, many flood control projects were found to be substandard, deficient, or unfinished. That's why he released a list of all the projects so the public can see where the funds are going.
Marcos added that many government employees make sacrifices — staying away from their families, spending from their own pockets, and continuing to provide services every day. He said these are the true role models of government.
Recently, Marcos created the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to investigate all projects in the past 10 years. He assured that the commission would remain independent and free from interference from Malacañang.
