The two Chinese nationals were apprehended by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City. They were identified as Kong Xiangyu, 36 years old, and Yang Bing, 53 years old.
According to the BI-Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) headed by Rendel Ryan Sy, the two have been in the case for a long time. Kong is wanted in China for fraud involving a large amount of money equivalent to millions of pesos.
Meanwhile, Yang has a hold-departure order from a court in Parañaque, so he has not been able to leave the country.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the operation was in response to President Marcos' directive to strengthen law enforcement and ensure the country's safety against foreign nationals with criminal records.
The arrest of Kong and Yang is proof of the BI's intensified action against fugitives and undesirable aliens hiding in the Philippines.
