Police arrested a man allegedly part of a group involved in illegal gun sales in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tunasan, Muntinlupa City. According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the group's clients are part of syndicates involved in robbery and illegal drugs in southern Metro Manila.

The suspect, known by the alias "Cris", was captured on video receiving marked money from a police officer who pretended to be a buyer. He was then immediately arrested by operatives. The transaction took place at a house owned by an acquaintance of the suspect.

A caliber .45 pistol was seized from Cris, which he allegedly sold for ₱20,000. He initially denied the charges but later admitted to being involved in the transaction, although he insisted that it was his first time.

According to Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, director of the SPD, the guns sold by the group could potentially be used by those involved in crime and drugs. The real target of the operation was the alias "Ace", an associate of the suspect and allegedly involved in a shooting in Barangay Bayanan, but he escaped. The suspect is currently in the custody of the SPD-District Special Operations Unit and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 10591, or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
