
Typhoon ‘Paolo’ weakened slightly as it crossed northern Luzon on Friday afternoon, PAGASA said. Signal No. 4 remained in effect in some areas.
The eye of the typhoon is located around Mayoyao, Ifugao and is moving west-northwest. It has maximum sustained winds of up to 120 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 200 kph, and a central pressure of 980 hPa. It is expected to exit the West Philippine Sea on the same day.
PAGASA warns of heavy rains and winds, including in areas outside the direct path of the storm such as Metro Manila, Bataan, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Panay Island, Mindoro, and Samar.
Signal No. 4: Raised in part of Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, and La Union.
Signal No. 3: Raised in Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Kalinga, Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, and La Union.
Signal No. 2 and 1: Includes parts of Cagayan, Apayao, Abra, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Bulacan, Pampanga, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Batanes.
A gale warning has also been issued for the sea, with wave heights ranging from 2.0 to 7.0 meters. Fishermen and small boats are advised not to venture out due to high waves and strong winds.
