Senator Imee Marcos left the Senate group chat after being called by Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson. Lacson advised her to attend hearings and read updates on alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
"Why? What is the content of the group chat? of the session? of the hearing? Isn't it just pressure on fellow senators? While in Congress it's just Zaldy Co," Marcos posted on Facebook on October 2.
He released screenshots proving that he had left the group chat. He added, "Before, when there was a disaster, senators would help each other. Now, it's all about slander, which is worse than an earthquake. I don't want that, I want to work."
Marcos also mentioned some of his accomplishments, such as authoring three laws. "That's while you're busy oppressing. Stop the gossiping and fighting," he added.
Meanwhile, Lacson said that Zaldy Co and Martin Romualdez will attend the next hearing. He appealed to Marcos: "He should attend the hearing and listen to the session so that he won't be confused. He should also read updates on the all-senators chat group."
