Basketball legend LeBron James has not yet decided when he will retire as he prepares for his 23rd season in the NBA. At 41 this December, LeBron is excited about the opportunity to play alongside Luka Doncic and the reinforced Lakers roster.
"I'm excited for this day and the opportunity to play the game I love for another season," LeBron said. "I don't know when the end will come, so I'm just cherishing every moment."
Last season, he averaged 24.4 points per game and said his love for the game and desire to continue to improve remain strong. He added, "I love the process — the training, the conditioning, and every game no matter how tough it is."
The Lakers surprised the NBA last season by acquiring Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks. LeBron said it was a big motivation for him to have Luka play the entire preseason, along with new players Marcus Smart and Deandre Ayton.
Doncic, on the other hand, hopes the Lakers will be stronger and more resilient in the new season. "When you join a new team in the middle of the season, it's hard to adjust right away. But in the pre-season, we'll get to know each other better and we'll be better prepared," Doncic said.
