The tragedy in Valenzuela City left two children dead and seven wounded after a house exploded yesterday.
The explosion occurred around 11 a.m. in Barangay Marulas. Four families living inside the compound were affected.
According to police, the house is owned by a couple who are storing gunpowder for fireworks because its price is still cheap at the moment.
Mayor Wes Gatchalian said this was an isolated incident and stressed that Valenzuela is not known as a center for the fireworks industry.
