Director James Gunn has given the first hint about the story of the sequel Superman: Man of Tomorrow. In his interview, he said that shooting will begin in April 2026 and is scheduled for release on July 9, 2027.
The big surprise, according to Gunn, is the collaboration between Superman and Lex Luthor. This will no longer be a simple battle between hero and villain. Instead, it will be a story of a unique alliance against a greater threat.
According to Gunn, the role of Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, will be as important as Superman. He even called it “as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie.”
This new direction will bring a deeper character to Lex, not just as a villain but as an integral part of the story. Instead of a typical battle, the storyline will be more complex and exciting.
For fans, this movie is sure to be special. Within two years of the first installment, we will be able to see the unique pairing of Superman and Lex Luthor for around ₱4,200 for an IMAX ticket compared to today's dollar price.
