The Department of Health (DOH) together with various groups conducted Nationwide TB screening and services for more than 7,000 people in 17 regions. Services provided were free of charge, such as chest X-ray, Tuberculin Skin Test (TST), sputum test, HIV testing, and health education.
The DOH aims to expand and accelerate the Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) which has been proven effective against TB. It is usually given to people who have been exposed to TB, Persons Living with HIV, and those with other diseases or weakened immunity.
According to the Integrated Tuberculosis Information System (ITIS), there were 192,733 TB cases from January to June 2025. The DOH aims to reduce the number of TB cases in the country and achieve a TB-free Philippines through intensified projects in various regions.
