Internet star Jake Paul will face Gervonta “Tank” Davis in an exhibition boxing match on November 14 at Atlanta, State Farm Arena. The whole world can watch it live on Netflix.
The fight is highly anticipated due to the large weight gap between the two boxers. Paul is fighting at cruiserweight (around 90 kilos) while Davis is the lightweight champion (around 61 kilos). The exact weight class and rules are yet to be determined, but it is expected to be a pro-style fight with both fighters aiming for a knockout.
For Davis, this is a great opportunity to earn money outside of his title fights. For Paul, it's a big chance to prove that he can compete with prime fighters and not just former MMA stars. In 2024, Paul shocked the world when he defeated boxing legend Mike Tyson in the most watched live sporting event. Also in June, he defeated Julio César Chávez Jr. and entered the rankings as No. 14 in the WBA cruiserweight division.
In his statement, Paul called Davis an “angry little elf” and said: “Yes, he’s a pound-for-pound champ, but my motto is: anyone, anytime, anyplace. And I like my odds.” He added that the fight in Atlanta would be “the worst night” for Davis.
This event is expected to draw millions of viewers and possibly break viewership records, especially since both boxers are well-known and controversial.
