The handheld Xbox is officially coming this October 16, 2025. Two models have been announced: ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. Both are designed for casual and hardcore gamers.
Both have a 7-inch 1080p IPS touchscreen display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. The button layout is also the same, inspired by the Xbox Wireless Controller, so it feels immediately familiar in the hand.
ROG Xbox Ally is the more affordable model. It has an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage. It is targeted at 720p gaming and can even 1080p output. It has a 60Wh battery and 2 USB 3.2 Type-C ports. Its expected price is around ₱29,000.
Meanwhile, ROG Xbox Ally X is the more powerful version. It has an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB RAM, and 1TB SSD storage. It also has a larger 80Wh battery and a USB 4 Type-C port. Its price is estimated at ₱42,000.
Both have a microSD card slot for easy storage expansion. Most importantly, it will use the new Xbox custom interface that is optimized for handheld gaming, so performance is faster and smoother than a standard Windows setup.
