The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is preparing a deportation case against an American pastor accused of abusing 160 children. According to BI Commissioner Joel Viado, this is part of their #ShieldKids campaign which aims to protect children from abuse by foreigners.
The report of the BI's Intelligence Division stated that they received an official letter from the PNP and DSWD requesting assistance in the case of the pastor identified as Jeremy Ferguson, 48 years old.
Ferguson was arrested on August 13 by the PNP Field Office III and the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of the Pampanga Police in Mexico, Pampanga. He is said to be the leader of a religious group that provides care to minors.
According to reports, the children said they had experienced physical abuse, food deprivation, and some were chained and locked in rooms. As a result, officials assured that everything would be done to completely deport Ferguson after the trial of the case.
