A 35-year-old father in Zamboanga City held his 5-year-old son hostage after a fight with his partner early Thursday morning.
According to the police, the suspect identified as Carlito went missing after an argument with his partner, Roselle. Out of fear, the woman closed the door of their house but the man broke the window with a glass.
Afterwards, Carlito quickly fled while carrying the child and pointing a piece of glass at him. When the police arrived, he tightened his grip on the child and hid in a store.
Authorities responded quickly and rescued the child after the suspect released him. The man was immediately arrested and brought to the precinct for investigation.
