The two suspected Korean nationals were killed after they were shot and robbed while riding-in-tandem in Malate, Manila on Friday night, August 15.
According to the report of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section, the victims were not carrying IDs. One of them is estimated to be 30-35 years old, 5’5 tall, wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, with a dragon tattoo on his back, and wearing black shoes. The other is 25-20 years old, 5’4 tall, wearing a green t-shirt, white shorts, and shoes.
The incident occurred at around 10:40 p.m. on Malvar Street, opposite a hotel in Barangay 699, Malate. According to witnesses and CCTV, the victims got off a taxi with a tour guide when two suspects suddenly approached them on a blue and white SkyDrive motorcycle. One of them grabbed a sling bag containing money, cellphones, and belongings, while the other ran a gun.
Police officers immediately responded to the scene but found the two victims lying lifeless on the road. Investigations are still ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
