The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) has provided assistance amounting to over P67 million for communities affected by a series of typhoons and heavy rains.
More than 74,000 families from Metro Manila and various parts of Luzon received food and non-food packs. These included rice, canned goods, noodles, coffee, hygiene kits and mats for their needs.
In the last week of July, PAGCOR distributed more than 41,000 relief packs worth P37 million in provinces such as Zambales, Bulacan, Laguna, Mindoro, Rizal, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija and Olongapo City.
In addition, PAGCOR also sent over P30.41 million worth of assistance to residents of Manila, Quezon City, Marikina, Parañaque, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Bulacan, Occidental Mindoro, La Union and Laguna.
According to PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro Tengco, their support will continue even after the weather returns to normal. “We understand that the recovery process will take time, so we will continue to help,” he said.
