A man who posed as a NBI agent was arrested after being involved in a road rage incident in Quezon. The suspect was identified as Jay Ar Cabana, who initially identified himself as Paul John Jimenez. It turned out that he had a standing warrant for a syndicated estafa case.
He was caught by operatives of the NBI-Technical Intelligence Division after being the subject of a viral complaint on Sen. Raffy Tulfo's program. According to the complaint, Cabana allegedly ran over a motorcycle rider using an SUV and displayed a fake NBI badge while threatening him. CCTV footage shows him trying to escape after the incident.
According to NBI records, Cabana is not a member of the agency. During his arrest on July 24, various fake IDs, including an NBI ID and badge, were seized from him. He is currently detained at the NBI detention facility in Muntinlupa.
In addition to the case of syndicated estafa, Cabana will also face additional cases such as usurpation of authority, illegal use of insignia, and violation of the Anti-Alias Law. His driver’s license was also suspended for 90 days, and he was ordered to surrender it before July 30.
