
A tourist boat capsized in Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, killing 37 people and leaving 5 missing. According to state media reports, there were 48 passengers and 5 crew on the Wonder Sea Boat when it suddenly capsized due to a strong thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon.
Most of the passengers were a Vietnamese family from Hanoi, including more than 20 children. Ten people had been rescued by Saturday night, while 37 bodies had been recovered by Sunday morning, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
One of the survivors was a 14-year-old boy who was found four hours later inside the overturned boat. Another child survivor, 10 years old, said he swam out and shouted for help before being rescued by soldiers.
The search for the missing continues and the boat has been brought to shore. Four of the deceased have not yet been identified.
This incident is one of the worst tragedies in Ha Long Bay, a popular tourist destination in Vietnam.
