An eight-month-old baby died after the tricycle they were riding collided with a motorcycle that skidded in Barangay Sulangan, Dumangas, Iloilo this Monday morning. Her uncle was carrying the baby while on the tricycle.
According to CCTV footage, the motorcycle suddenly skidded and fell off the road, causing it to directly collide with the oncoming tricycle. The force of the collision threw the tricycle's occupants and the uncle dropped the baby, who fell onto the road.
The baby was pronounced dead at the hospital while the other tricycle rider only sustained minor injuries. The 15-year-old motorcycle driver was also rushed to the hospital and is now under the care of the MSWDO (Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office).
Police are continuing their investigation and are speaking with the baby's family about next steps against the underage driver.
