Netflix has announced a live-action adaptation of the popular Solo Leveling.
Despite fans' strong speculation that Cha Eun-woo would play Sung Jin-Woo, Byeon Woo-seok has been officially cast. The Korean live-action series is currently in production and will be aired on Netflix.
Byeon Woo-seok, known for 20th Century Girl and Lovely Runner, will play Sung Jin-Woo.
Because of his manhwa-like appearance, many fans say he is perfect for the role of a Hunter who goes from being the weakest to becoming humanity's last hope.
The series is co-directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo.
They are also behind the films Ashfall and Castaway on the Moon. The production is handled by Kakao Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES, with a world-class VFX team for the intense and breathtaking scenes.
Solo Leveling originally came from KakaoPage and became popular as a web novel and webtoon.
It has over 14.3 billion views, and became even more popular when it had an anime adaptation that won the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
No exact release date has been announced yet, but it has been confirmed that production is ongoing and it will be released on Netflix.
