The two workers injured in an explosion at a arms factory in Marikina City have died while undergoing treatment at a hospital. According to police, the victims were aged 34 and 44.
One of them was hit by shrapnel in the chest, while the other had his hand amputated after touching a box containing bullet primer that exploded. Both died in hospital.
The third victim, who suffered an eye injury, has been discharged from the hospital after treatment.
Armscor Global Defense Inc. (AGDI) expressed its condolences and said it would cooperate with the police's investigation. They also promised to assist the families of the victims.
According to AGDI President Martin Tuason, the company complies with international and local regulations. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon in Barangay Fortune, while the victims were making ammunition.
