The siblings, aged seven and nine, drowned in a stream in Badoc, Ilocos Norte this Saturday. They went out of their house to play in the rain with other children.
After taking a bath, they went to the nearby farm to pick some watermelons. They were not able to return home immediately, so their family started looking for them.
When found, it was discovered that the siblings had already drowned in the stream. They were immediately taken to the nearest hospital, but they were already lifeless upon arrival.
According to the police, this is a reminder to parents to watch over their children, especially during the rainy season.
The investigation continues to determine how the incident happened.
