The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said there was no foul play in the death of Anthony Granada, a De La Salle University (DLSU) Law student. According to Secretary Jonvic Remulla, based on the investigation, Granada was alone from the time he left Taguig until his body was found in a vacant lot in Barangay Sapa, Naic, Cavite.
No wounds, gunshot wounds, or signs of pain were found on Granada's body. His belongings were also complete, such as his cellphone and wallet, so this is not considered a case of theft.
A bottle of “Liquid Sosa” (a powerful drain cleaner) and a milk tea container were found next to his body. Remulla said, “For the peace of mind of everyone, we are making it clear that: first, this is not hazing, and second, there was no foul play.”
According to CCTV footage, Granada boarded a ride-hailing app and drove alone to a resort and then to a vacant lot. Granada was last seen on June 8 and was reported missing a week later. His body was found on the fourth day of the police search operation.
Granada's family requested privacy and did not provide further details. The DLSU Tañada-Diokno School of Law and University of Santo Tomas (UST) issued condolences. Granada graduated with a BS Management Accounting from UST in 2023.
