French police are investigating after a bizarre incident at Disneyland Paris, where a 9-year-old Ukrainian girl was allegedly married in an event planned by adults. According to reports, the theme park and hundreds of extras were hired to make the wedding look real.
Four people were arrested, and two of them are still under investigation for fraud and money laundering. One of them is a 22-year-old man believed to be British, and a 24-year-old Latvian woman. Meanwhile, the child's mother and another man have been released.
According to authorities, no harm or coercion occurred to the child. The mother said that she just wanted her daughter to experience being a "Disney princess" for a day. Staff noticed that the girl was having difficulty walking in high heels, so they immediately called the police.
The investigation also revealed that the organizer paid €130,000 for the event, using allegedly fake documents. Disneyland has also filed a complaint over the incident.
