The two Chinese nationals who used to work at POGO were caught at NAIA Terminal 3 on July 20 after presenting fake Emigration Exit Clearance (ECC) while boarding a flight to Hong Kong.
The foreigners were identified as Yu Ziming, 32, and Wu Liping, 30. They were detained by the Immigration Protection and Border Enforcement Section after noticing that the documents they presented were fake.
The ECC is an important document for foreigners working in the Philippines and wishing to leave the country permanently. Without a valid ECC, they cannot be allowed to leave.
After being caught, the two Chinese were immediately turned over to the immigration legal division to file a complaint. They were transferred to the warden facility while awaiting their deportation proceedings.
On June 17, 100 former POGO workers were also deported for involvement in job scams, in conjunction with stricter immigration policies from March 2025.
