OPM artist Amiel Sol is still overjoyed after his song “Sa Bawat Sandali” reached 100 million streams on Spotify. Amiel had no expectations when he wrote the song. For him, what was important was being able to write honestly and from the heart, even if there were lines that would “cringe” to others.
Amiel grew up in a music-loving family. He started playing the guitar at the age of eight and enjoyed music in church, school bands, and restobar gigs. Although he has a talent for singing, he considers himself a songwriter who only sings his own compositions. He has also never participated in singing contests.
In December 2024, he released “Sa Bawat Sandali,” and within a few months, it went viral — thanks to TikTok and the support of his listeners. From being a data analyst, Amiel resigned to focus on his music career. For now, he has plans to release an EP and play more live shows, including the “Mutya OST” concert on June 20.
Amiel admits that he sometimes wonders how long success will last, but he chooses to focus on the present. For him, the real reward is the writing process. He is grateful to his label, team, and fans called Solmates. He said, “I wouldn’t be in this position without you.”
