A former Bureau of Corrections jail officer was arrested in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija after he was linked to the bloody kidnapping and killing of a businessman and his son in Quezon City in June 2024. According to the NBI-Homicide Division, the suspect conspired with the businessman's former driver, who was also a former Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL), and other ex-convicts.
According to the investigation, the group allegedly blocked the mother and son's car. When the son heard about the kidnapping plan, he retreated but was immediately shot by the suspects. The son was killed while the mother was taken away. A few days later, the businessman's body was found, unrecognizable due to decomposition.
The former jail officer denied the allegations and said he had nothing to do with the incident. But according to the victim's relatives, denial is not enough—they are crying out for justice, especially since a life was lost. The suspect has been charged with Kidnapping for Ransom with Homicide.
