70-year-old Lao Liu was kidnapped and tortured in the Philippines in June 2018. When he arrived at Manila Airport to open a supermarket with friends, an acquaintance invited him to dinner. After the incident, Lao Liu helped in the investigation against the syndicate. He became a fixer at the casino and used his experience and connections to track down the perpetrators. In June 2023, "Lao Wang" and five of his accomplices were arrested in an operation. Lao Liu helped identify them, and the case resulted in a prison sentence.
