A 15-year-old boy died after being run over by his father's dump truck inside the construction site at the old Pasig City Hall, Barangay San Nicolas, Pasig City, on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Pasig police investigation, the 41-year-old father was reversing the truck when he accidentally ran over and crushed the teenager who was sleeping in the back of the vehicle.
Emergency personnel from the Pasig local government and police immediately arrived at the scene. The victim was declared dead on the spot. The father-driver was arrested and will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
The Pasig local government promised to help the victim's family and ordered the construction consortium to review their safety measures so that the tragedy will not happen again.
