
The fire at the Sta. Cruz Public Market in Laguna occurred early yesterday, May 23, 2025. About 300 stalls were burned, most of which were dry goods such as clothes, clothes, and shoes. According to Cesar Morfe, chief of Sta. Cruz Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire started at around 5:45 a.m. and reached fourth alarm.
Two people were injured and were immediately taken to the Laguna Medical Center due to burn injuries. The identities of the victims were not immediately known.
Firefighters declared the fire "fire out" at 9:41 a.m. The arson probers are still investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
