The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has arrested a couple—a Chinese and a Filipino—in a successful buy-bust operation in Angeles City, Pampanga, where more than 100 kilos of shabu worth P680 million were seized.
The suspects, alias “Wang” (31) and “Sha” (24), who are said to be residents of Clark and Tarlac, were arrested. According to the PDEA, the two were immediately arrested after a drug transaction with an undercover cop on Friendship Highway, Barangay Sto. Domingo.
PDEA believes that the suspects intended to distribute illegal drugs throughout Pampanga and neighboring provinces. They are said to be targeting a large-scale operation.
Investigations are now underway to identify other possible accomplices of the couple, who are suspected of being part of a large drug syndicate in the country.
Authorities continue to focus on the case to completely cut off the illegal drug trade in the region.
