MRT-3 now accepts cashless payment using GCash. According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), pilot testing of GCash has begun in all train stations.
The new system is in line with the order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to make the travel of commuters in the country faster and smoother. It aims to reduce queues and make ticket purchasing easier.
To use GCash, simply look for the ticket counter at the MRT-3 station that has cashless payment option. GCash can be used to purchase single journey tickets.
In this way, it is expected that more passengers will benefit from faster and contactless service in public transportation.
