A woman missing for more than 60 years has been found alive and well. According to a report by CNN International, Audrey Jean Backeberg from Wisconsin was last seen on July 7, 1962, while walking from a bus stop.
For many years, authorities searched for him. They tried various methods but to no avail. Eventually, the search was called off and his disappearance remained a mystery.
Just this year, another attempt was made to find Backeberg. A detective named Isaac Hanson was hired to re-examine the case. He re-interviewed witnesses and reviewed old records.
Hanson discovered a out-of-state residence and went there. He was able to call Backeberg for a few minutes. According to Hanson, Audrey had her own reasons for leaving.
Hanson did not share the full conversation but said Backeberg was happy, content, and remorseless. There was also no crime or foul play found in his case. He deliberately chose to disappear and live a quiet life.
