P101 million worth of high-grade marijuana or kush was discovered inside five balikbayan boxes at the Manila International Container Port (MICP) in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday, according to a report by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The PDEA is now in possession of the illegal drugs. They are also investigating who sent them and who should have received them.
According to the PDEA, anyone involved could face life imprisonment and a fine of up to P10 million, pursuant to Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
