A car accidentally drove into a supermarket in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya on Tuesday night, causing injury to three customers.
Based on investigation, the car was supposed to be parked in the western part of the parking area in Barangay Quirino. However, because the parking lot was higher than the road, the driver pressed the accelerator to prevent the bottom of the car from getting caught—which is why it suddenly swooped.
The car jumped the tire stopper, two glass panels were punctured, and straightened into the supermarket. It only stopped when it crashed into the Customer Service Cubicle.
Three customers were injured and were immediately taken to the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center. The driver, a 61-year-old woman, was also rushed to the hospital after feeling chest tightness.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing while it is still being determined whether there were any security deficiencies in the parking area.
