Society of Sinners: The Strange Joy and Importance of David Licauco

Samahan ng mga Makasalanan is a fun movie with the right mix of humor and heart, making it hard not to like it. The movie's lead, David Licauco, gave a refreshing and great performance that is far from his previous "cute" roles. Although there are some flaws in the story, this is a movie full of feel-good vibes.

The story began when Rev. Sam (David Licauco) arrived in Sto. Kristo, a town full of sinners such as thieves, gossipers, and others. But when a strong earthquake struck, the people looked for hope, and Rev. Sam became their bridge to find salvation.

The film has intense characters that bring joy to every scene, including Buboy Villar, Chariz Solomon, and Joel Torre. David Shouder, who plays a sacristan, is also a standout due to his comedic timing. But the performance of David Licauco cannot be underestimated, who despite his calm demeanor, gave depth to the dramatic scenes.

Although there were a few moments where David felt a bit out of place in the comedic parts, it didn't detract from the overall fun of the film. His chemistry with Sanya Lopez was also a highlight of the film. Their togetherness in every scene was truly light and natural.

Despite the controversial themes and strong language, this film is still perfect for families. It's a shame that the film has an R-13 rating, so it doesn't reach the young people who should have seen the message of forgiveness and hope.
